Barry Tomalty opened Noralta Inn West in November 2004 and the camp quickly became the lodging of choice for all tradesmen, consultants and engineers to stay at. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the meals in the spacious dining room are top quality, making your stay a pleasant one. The rooms are kept spotlessly clean by their hard working housekeeping staff and all offer comfortable bedding and a flat screen TV. Most have their own seperate bathroom and a good sized desk while some have a shared bathroom with the adjoining room. The large deluxe rooms also have their own fireplace. There is an eight person hot tub, a sauna and a small exercise room for the use of all guests. If you are in the mood to socialize there is The Patch which offers pool tables, foosball and table hockey. On weekends there is the ever popular karaoke machine where there is more than a good chance you will find Barry and his velvet voice entertaining the partrons.
As well as catering to the needs of his business Barry is a strong supporter of the local community. Whether it be donating trays of appetizers for events at the Rec Hall, contributing to the building of the local playground for the kids or his biggest gift of all which has turned into an annual event called the Zama Break Up Dinner and Dance. Since his first year in operation Barry has donated steak and lobster dinners for 150 people and brought in from Edmonton rising country and western star Lisa Hewitt to preform a special concert after dinner that has everyone dancing non-stop all night long. All proceeds from this event are graciously donated to the Zama Rec Society to help with other community events which are put on throughout the year.
